A day to remember - Masters watchmaking time

It was such a privilege to visit Kari`s Atelier in Mòtiers. The location of the Atelier is somehow magnificent and arriving to the location one can really feel the goosebumps and prepare that life will not be the same after this day.

“We handcraft around 45 watches a year. It is a good amount to maintain quality and perfection in every timepiece we create”

A full tour of the work carried here was provided and by Master himself. We got to see all the painstaking process that goes into these watches that are still done with traditional ways.

Each watch has parts made in house and we are talking about small parts. Some of the smallest screws are in diameter that one cannot almost see them and seeing the process in your own eyes is really something. The tradition is something Kari is very proud off - the investment put into the Atelier is insane and all has been done to keep the traditional watchmaking in the top criteria on all operations.

I think we agreed together that this trip was maybe the most expensive yet taken. At the same time, a watch from Voutilainen became more like affordable in terms to value/quality and sure we left the Atelier as a different men - such amount of passion is within those walls, so much skills and hard work - it all adds up of creating one of the most unique Marvels one can ever dream of owning.
